Are you looking for Sunshine Golden Raisin Biscuits? I loved those! Sunshine was eventually purchased by Keebler, who discontinued these. They came in a long flat package. If you pulled out a sheet, there were three or four sections. They were perforated, so you could bend and pull them apart. The crust was baked golden-brown, thin, but not crispy. Not sugary, more like a thin pie crust. The filling was a pressed raisin paste. The sections had scalloped edges on the short sides and were flat on the long sides. Do these sound like your cookies? - Hammer
I appreciate the answers and especially the link to the site where the Sunshine Golden Raisin Biscuits package was displayed. From Hammer/'s description, it sure sounds as if this was the cookie that my grandfather loved, and caused me many cavities. However, my memory (likely faulty) says it was a Nabisco product. I wish the Sunshine Golden Raisin Biscuit product was still on the market so I could run out and try a batch to see if it jogged my memory. Thanks to all who have helped in the search. JG
Dear Tyler, I’ve been looking and looking for Sunshine Raisin Fruit Biscuits for years, finally accepted that they were gone with the wind. Whose terrible idea was that? Tart ‘em up a little, why not, change the packaging, sell them in the Health Food Department, y’know? I’d buy ‘em. I’m going right to the Vermont Country Store for Garibaldi Biscuits. Thanks so much for the tip! - Casta
Does anyone have a knock off recipe for the old Sunshine Biscuit Company;'s raisin cookies? - sunshine raisin biscuits Sunshine Biscuit Company used to make a bar like cookies with raisins.
