The KP500 (nicknamed LG Cookie) is a touchscreen mobile smartphone. LG targeted the entry-level touchscreen market keeping the cost of the KP500 as low as possible by omitting some of the features found on high-end products, such as GPS, 3G or Wi-Fi.[1] For example, in the UK, the KP500 is available for less than £50 in some stores.
Dubbed the KX500, it's quite similar to the KP500 Cookie, which is its GSM cousin. Both versions have a 3-inch touch-screen display, a 3-megapixel camera, motion sensor, handwriting recognition, a microSD card slot, and a 3D user interface that looks a lot like HTC's TouchFLO. It has three physical keys underneath the display plus an optional stylus.
While the LG KX500 Cookie is brand new and Asia-only, the LG KP500 Cookie has been around for a while now in Europe and Asia. The KP500 also has quad-band GSM support, so if you can somehow get it unlocked, you will be able to use it in the U.S. An unlocked KP500 Cookie model will cost you roughly $200.
