An Ironbox is an IRONic taxo-, info-, nav-, user-, [etc] BOX which may or may not summarise what it describes depending on the the context (or otherwise). It isn't deliberately designed to disinform though by pure chance it might not just manage to avoid doing exactly that. It is best neither to use them not wisely nor without aforethought.[Nota Non Male 1] A disinfobox is a specific type of Ironbox.

2010 UPDATE: The current version of Ironbox has come a long way with many enhanced features, an improved API, support for all common browsers, and extreme RIA (Rich Internet App) support. However, this 2007 on-line demo is still a great historic introduction to the webtop features of Ironbox, so please read on and explore. If you have a Web project that requires extreme desktop-like performance on a dynamic and interactive browser interface, please send an e-mail to jayb2 at ironbox.com to learn how we can help you achieve your goals. Ironbox is inspired by the ThinClient/Browser/Web architecture model for running applications. It provides a rich interface and client-computing environment for applications and has built-in support to communicate with one or many servers. It supports everything AJAX, Web 2.0, and beyond. Under the hood, there's only pure JavaScript and the DOM. No browser extensions of any kind are required.
