LGA775 (occasionally called Socket T) is a current processor socket used for Intel desktop processors and has been in use since mid-2004. As such, it is the basis of most current consumer motherboards and supports a variety of processors including versions of the Pentium 4, Pentium D, and Core 2 processors. As actual compatibility with a particular processor is determined by the chipset used on the board, it is still important to check the motherboard's actual compatible processors.
Description: The Intel Desktop Board DG35EC is an Intel G35 Express-based, compact motherboard.Compared to other compact motherboards on the market, it is relatively inexpensive at around $100.This motherboard supports Celeron, Pentium D, Pentium Dual Core, and Core 2 processors that use the LGA771 interface.

I usually read reviews and stay away from flakey products. However, there were few reviews on the DG35EC back then so I bought one. First board was would boot occasionally, then lock up. Eventually it stopped POSTing completely. Unfortunately, it was over 30 days so I had to contact Intel. By that time I had already rebuilt my first machine with a Gigabyte board with the SAME components I tried on the Intel. I told Intel that my components were already being used, but they refused to accept my explanation, and demanded I try ''approved'' memory first. So I bought another Core2 CPU and their ''approved'' memory. When the replacement board arrived, guess what, also DOA. Board refused to operate with 2 sitcks of DDR and would lock up even with just 1 installed. So I ended up buying a D945GCNL for another project and that works fine with all the hardware I tried on the EC. Now I'm back to playing phone and email tag with tech support. Poor design and QC on this board.
