Its compact and robust design, coupled with a choice of analog, digital, and digital RS-232 outputs, makes the DSP-3000 the most versatile fiber optic gyro available and an ideal solution for guidance and stabilization, low-cost inertial measurement units (IMUs), integrated GPS/INS, and AHRS.
The DSP-3000 is built on a foundation of KVH’s mature all-fiber optical circuit, which ensures exceptionally low noise (ARW), insensitivity to cross-axis error, and shock and vibration robustness. Housed in a package roughly the same size as a deck of playing cards and available with a robust, modular design, the DSP-3000 makes low-cost inertial measurement units (IMUs), integrated GPS/INS, and AHRS a reality. Fabricated from KVH’s proprietary E•Core polarization-maintaining fiber, the KVH DSP-3000 series delivers superior precision and reliable performance at a lower cost than other comparable fiber optic and mechanical gyroscopes.
The perfectly designed DSP3000 is a versatile measurement system based on Polestar’s unique fluorescence-based detection technology. The system is cost-effective and offers flexibility that can be precisely tailored to meet the measurement task. It is possible to easily measure several process parameters including O2, pH, and CO2.
Although ST Audio (aka Korean-based company Hoontech) have plenty of budget offerings in their range, there's nothing entry-level about the DSP3000 M-Port under review here. It comprises a DSP24 PCI card, its associated XG DB1 daughter card with S/PDIF and AES-EBU digital I/O, and a 2U high rackmount case labelled 'ADC&DAC 3000', which houses the various converters and audio electronics. In here you'll find eight balanced microphone preamps with phantom power and insert points, dedicated LED ladder-array level meters for each channel, ADAT and word clock I/O, and one MIDI In and two MIDI Outs.
