I have a 2005 jeep grand cherokee laredo and the front and passenger door handles are hanging by a thread. I googled the problem and found thousands of complaints so we contacted jeep concerning this situation. They said, n“we have never heard of this problem before, sounds like regular wear and tear.n” Well Ic’m sorry but I have never heard of any other car owners complaining of their interior doors falling apart! I think Jeep needs to take care of the safety of their customers rather than play dumb to a VERY apparent safety issue.
The four interior handles on my 2005 Grand Cherokee are broken. Your’d think it was misuse but the plastic that holds the handles is fragile. I mean it brakes off so easily. The first handle was the drivers of course and then the passenger and then the rear ones. Jeep should take care of its customers and make sure they fix this. That is why most Americans are going to Japanese cars. They are more reliable. The plastic they use is not brittle like the one used in these Jeeps. We love our Jeeps and know that the recall will come in very soon. I will not buy any more Jeep nor Chrysler if nothing is done about this. I am out of warranty but the door handles are a manufacturing defect. The plastic is too fragile it chatters to pieces. I hope Jeep takes the right steps to fix this.
