I was at Harvey Norman the other day, had a look at these cameras, looks similar but I haven't decided which camera I should go for. The C770 they sell, come in with 128mb media card, ain't sure what kind of media card it is.Does anyone know what the differences are for these cameras?Anyone got any comments or suggestions for one or the other of these two cameras? The cost for these cameras are from Harvey Norman:Olympus C765 - $699Olympus C770 - $849Thanks.

Just so you realise, you only get the 128mb card with the BLACK C770 - retails at $849 or a plain one with the SILVER C770 which retails at $799. It works out about $10 cheaper to buy the black then it does to buy the silver + a card.Apart from that as you can tell from the other links there are little features missing from the C765 like super zoom mode etc. Oh and the cards are xD thats what all olympus cameras use.

Firstly, those prices are too high...you should only pay $700 or less for the C770 now, well the silver one anyway. You can pick up a GENUINE 256MB Olumpus xD card for about $70-80 off eBay...I did! Unfotunately, xD cards are at least twice the price of any other card around! If you don't need a hot shoe or mpeg4 movie recording, then save your money and go for the C765, and this one should cost less than $600. There are some other minor differences too which you have probably already read about.I have the C770 and it's awesome...love the 10x optical zoom!Look at computer shop prices, because they're usually the cheapest, then take your quote to HN (if that's where you want to buy) and see if they will price match!

Reading through the dpreview comparo, there's little difference between the two, but the C770 has a few more features; such as hotshoe, MPEG-4, more frames per second in movie mode and remote control. The C765 has more choices with exposure compensation and metering. For me, I would prefer the C770, but others may choose the C765, depending on what features suit their needs best.
