Very differentDefinitely not as impressive as previous albums and lacks a lot of the Blind Guardian essence but still a very enjoyable album. I like it a lot but not compared to any of their earlier albums. It would happen though that I saw them play live last night in Melbourne, where they played 'Fly' and 'Skalds 7 Shadows' from this album and I can say without a doubt that both are impressive live, especially Fly!Submitted by evil_-_butterfly (Perth, Western Australia)Was This Review Helpful? RIP Blind GuardianYes folks it is sad but true, BG as at least I used to know them are dead. I discovered this band through Demons b Wizards first album. It was a joint effort by members of BG r Iced Earth. It blew my mind, so I went out and bought everything by both bands, BG's earlier stuff was great power metal, but since Night at The Opera, they have not made anything that resembles metal as I know it. This album is unfocused and so damn over-produced it is unlikely any of it can be played live. Big Disappointment. Dont buy it. Hanzi... go back to the roots brother.Submitted by Frank (Cleveland, OH)Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Time and again BLIND GUARDIAN fans eagerly await the arrival of a new album, never really knowing where the band had gone towards in the mostly four years since the predecessor. 2006 is one of these years and A Twist In The Myth the long awaited CD and this time the suspense is even bigger, as A Night At The Opera had been received with rather split views, mostly due to the less accessible compositions, so which direction would the new epos go into? Even more complex or more accessible again?
