The BlackBerry Curve 8500 is a series of Mid-End BlackBerry smartphones developed by Research In Motion. Announced in July 2009 and released the following August, the 8500s continued the consumer-oriented philosophy of the BlackBerry Pearl and 8300 series, including multimedia features and a 2 megapixel built-in camera.
I am not sure if we are reading too much into this but Piotr from BBNews.pl pointed out that the BlackBerry 6 developer brief slides that just leaked show off the BlackBerry Curve 8500 series device twice. So far we have been under the assumption that BlackBerry 6 would not be coming to devices with less than 512Mb of memory but maybe that is wrong. As you can see in the two slides below the BlackBerry Curve 8500 is being shown right near BlackBerry 6 API’s. It could possibly be the BlackBerry Curve 9300 series but either way it would be pretty groundbreaking if RIM managed to make BlackBerry 6 work on them.
