The original series style of Pebbles and Bam Bam costumes are suitable for children from infants to toddlers. When Pebbles and Bam Bam first appeared in the series, Bam Bam was a toddler and Pebbles was still crawling. This means, if you have a young girl who is still crawling, Pebbles would make a perfect costume idea for her. On the other hand, if you have a son that is at the toddler stage and walking, Bam Bam would be a great fit.
As the Flintstones cartoon ended the folks at Hanna-Barbera thought it would be great to continue on with the characters. In 1971, The Pebbles and Bam-Bam Show was born. This first spin-off lasted only one season and consisted of 16 30-minute episodes and a handful of 10-minute shorts during The Flintstone Comedy Hour. The show followed the now teenaged and dating Pebbles and Bam Bam as they attended Bedrock High.
Costume Instructions Pebbles Costume 1. Cut out dress pattern from green fleece. (I used a dress in her closet that I knew fit her and used it to make my pattern.) 2. Sew dress together. 3. Turn right side out. 4. Cut out triangles from the black felt. 5. Using fabric glue, glue on the black triangles to the green dress. 6. Using the hot glue gun, glue the bone to the hair clip. Bam Bam Costume 1. Using the fold of the yellow fleece, cut out a rectangle to fit the person. 2. Sew up the rectangle so that it makes a tube. This will make the loin cloth. 3. Cut a strip of the yellow fleece to fit over the person's shoulder and then sew it on to the loin cloth. 4. Cut the bottom of the loin cloth to look jagged. (I just cut out triangles from the bottom.) 5. Cut out triangles from the black felt. 6. Using the fabric glue, glue the black triangles on to the yellow loin cloth. 7. Sew the bone on to the shoulder strap to make it look like the bone is holding the shoulder strap on.
When my baby daughter was born she had lots of hair and I kept a bow in the top of her hair. She was forever being referred to as Pebbles so the first Halloween that she was old enough it was time to dress her as Pebbles and it was only natural that her four year old brother be Bamm-Bamm. When we were invited to a Family Halloween party we talked Dad into wearing a Fred Flinstone costume too. AND big sis wanted in so she chose the name t"Pebbleinar".
