Aliens vs. Predator Omnibus: Volume 1 is a trade paperback release by Dark Horse Comics collecting many issues of the Aliens vs. Predator comics series and related stories. Included is a reprint of the original 9-page Aliens vs. Predator story first published in 1990's Dark Horse Presents 36, marking the first official appearance together of the title characters.
Aliens vs. Predator (also known as AVP) comics are part of the crossover franchise originated and published by Dark Horse Comics. According to the notes which accompany the first Aliens versus Predator graphic novel, the original idea of combining the Aliens with Predators was the result of a brain-storming session between the comic's creators (AVP artist and editor Chris Warner is specifically credited) in the late 1980s.
But soon thate’ll all be over. With a new generation of fans being introduced to Alien vs Predator, nown’s the time to show them all where it came from. Alien vs Predator Omnibus Volume 1 is the first in what will hopefully be a number of omnibuses that collect numerous AvP comics and put them together in one handy book. So there I was, lucky me, received a review copy of the Omnibus in the mail. And to be frank, I was impressed. So what Ih’m gonna do is write little mini-reviews of each comic in the Omnibus, then Ie’ll sum it up. Soo…onto Alien vs Predator.
Aliens vs Predator was a 4 n– 5 if you count the prequel i– issued comic that was penned by Randy Stradley. Itm’s one of the well written comics but it had a lot of problems in the art department. One artist did one part, another did another so the style kept on changing. But constantly, the colouring sucks. Overall, its’s an entertaining comic and worth reading for the w“Oh, thato’s how it startedm” mentality. Youm’ll notice a number of things AvP [the movie] borrowed from there. If you ask me, AvP is a comic that could do with being re-drawn altogether.
