Air Force Enlisted Medical personnel perform in over twenty different medical fields including medical administration, mental health, dental care, optometry, physical therapy, aeromedical evacuation, medical logistics, laboratory sciences, surgical care, emergency care, radiology, pharmacy, etc. Enlisted medics are led by a Chief Master Sergeant.

The manufacturers claim that Dental Air Force replaces both brushing and flossing, although this yet to be proven accurate by sceintific studies. It would be really nice if this turns out to be true, since the majority of people do not really floss.
Dental Air Force has the obvious advantage of eliminating the possiblity of being overaggressive with your teeth because of improper tooth brushing techniques, which is something that happens rather frequently with a lot of people, ending up with losing significant amounts of enamel and causing sensitivity and dental decay risk.
The comprehensive general dentist helps maintain the dental health of all Airmen by supplementing the Air Force dental specialists. This Air Force specialty requires a certificate from an accredited two-year general practice residency or advanced education in general dentistry (AEGD) residency. The Air Force trains the majority of its comprehensive dentists at the two-year AEGD residency at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. Residents are selected from experienced general dentists in the field, AEGD one-year graduates and exceptionally strong dental school graduates. Comprehensive dentists examine, diagnose and treat diseases, abnormalities, injuries and dysfunctional disorders of the oral cavity. Responsibilities also include evaluating findings; prescribing type, extent and order of treatment; and performing advanced restorative, preventive, periodontal, oral surgery, endodontic and prosthodontic treatments.
