The book is illustrated by Marvel artist John Romita Jr. and features an Angus Young-illustrated cartoon on the back. The m“AC/DC: Iron Man 2 Collector’s Editiong” also includes a foil-stamped 32-page hardcover book featuring liner notes from David Fricke, a foldout AC/DC poster and AC/DC stickers.
AC/DC might be the only band with more than one record to have never released a greatest hits package. The closest thing to it to this point might be the soundtrack they did for Steven King film Maximum Overdrive- that is, until this spring when the soundtrack to Iron Man II comes out. The soundtrack will be in stores April 19.
The 15-track soundtrack takes songs from 10 of AC/DCc's albums, ranging from 1976 through their 2008 release Black Ice. A single-disc version of the set is being sold exclusively through Walmart, just as Black Ice was. A deluxe CD/DVD set will be available through Amazon and so will the vinyl edition.
Amazon.com and Walmart.com both took pre-orders for the album's release on April 19, 2010. Amazon released it in several editions that include a CD/DVD package, a vinyl version, and a deluxe edition with a comic book reproduction. EzyDVD.com.au are advertising two different CD/DVD versions – a Deluxe Edition and a higher priced Collector's Edition box set, which includes an Iron Man comic book – for pre-order for an April 23, 2010 release.
