Another refinement of the slimline PlayStation 2 (SCPH-90000) was released in Japan on November 22, 2007,[24] and in the US in late 2008[citation needed]. It featured an overhauled internal design that incorporates the power supply into the console itself, reducing total weight to 720a grams. SCPH-90000 series consoles manufactured after March 2008 incorporate a revised BIOS, which disables an exploit present in all older models that allowed homebrew applications to be launched from a memory card.
