Summary: We have two of these in our office. The offices are in a high rise. Very bright. I was initially concerned that glare would render them useless. No glare problems. The speakers are great for normal office apps but a subwoofer would enhance watching movies. As the editors so clearly stated - this is an expensive monitor even with the current price drop to $600. There are a ton of other 22in widescreen monitors available but none as nice looking as this one. I can't atest to the technical specs of the others. It's easy to despise the Dell Crystal because you think you can't afford it and easy to love it if you think you can. Here's how I see it: When Dell started selling LCD monitors, we were paying $700 for 16 inch Dell LCDs. This is quite a nice monitor for well-designed office. If you're gaming in your parent's basement or a 5th floor walkup, you don't need this.
Get More for Less Upgrade your 19-inch or 17-inch monitor and you'll be amazed at how much more content you can see all at once. This large wide-screen LCD gives you a full 1680x1050 resolution, which makes it a lot easier to do precision work for graphics and engineering. Oracle Sun/rs"s 22-Inch Widescreen LCD Flat Panel Monitor is a productivity booster that's easy on the eyes and budget.
It seems like computer monitors, especially LCD monitors are finally starting to move over to the 16:9 aspect ratio. When we first started seeing widescreen models they were all 16:10 aspect ratio, so you would have resolutions like 1680 x 1050 and 1920 x 1200. Now the 16:9 models are starting to come out offering full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080. Today we will be looking at one such monitor the Samsung SyncMaster 2233SW, which is a 22-inch display that features a 5ms response time, 15000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, and a very sleek design.
