The Apple iPhone 4G is quite possibly the most awaited tech gadget of the year. It has already created much more hype than its previous versions, despite the fact that Apple still hasnu’t confirmed the release date of the phone. There are no official updates from Apple regarding the iPhone 4G release date.
Now rumor has it that a few days ago, Steve Jobs replied to an email from a European customer stating that iPhone 4G will release in May-July. Apart from that rumored email, there are no updates from Apple. Personally, however, I find it quite suspicious that Steve Jobs would personally respond to a single European customer regarding the release date, when millions of other people are also waiting to know the iPhone 4G release date. The evidence indicates that these rumors may be false and that it could be several months before the phone becomes available.
The final issue creating much speculation about the iPhone 4.0 release date has to do with who the service provider for the phone will be. AT&T has long had an exclusive deal with Apple for distribution of the iPhone, but rumors are rampant that that deal is soon to expire. Verizon customers and disgruntled AT&T customers alike are hoping that the iPhone 4G soon becomes available on the Verizon network.
4Gmania has taken the world by storm since the Gizmodo prototype was first reported about a month ago. Since then, Apple has ducked rumors left and right over the new iPhone, and has not even committed to a release date. Previously, there were rumors of a release date this June, but while the rumor of June may have been correct for the 4G’s release date, the year is not.
