Barbara Wilson is an African American singer, she is considered a Hook Singer , singing the hooks on several classic West Coast hip hop songs. She was born in Hawthorne, California August 8, 1973. She is known best for her sensual soulful voice, most notably on the classic 1995 Dr.Dre song Keep Their Heads Ringing .
Our HistoryThe Barbara C. Wilson preschool has a long history of providing quality early childhood special education services. Founded in 1973 by the renowned child neuropsychologist, Dr. Barbara C. Wilson as the North Shore University Hospital Preschool Development Program. The school was one of the first on Long Island to provide center-based services specifically for children with communication disorders. In 2006 the program was renamed in honor of Dr. Wilson and joined the Brookville Center for Children
About the ProgramToday the Barbara C. Wilson Preschool continues to provide quality early childhood education for children requiring special education services, as well as classroom opportunities for children not requiring special education. We serve children with a variety of developmental needs including children on the autism spectrum. The school offers a variety of full day class size options for center based special education. In addition the school offers integrated classrooms which service classified and non-classified students in one classroom. The Barbara C. Wilson Preschool is an approved preschool evaluation site for preschool-aged children.
Barbara Wilson was born on February 17, 1959, in Charlotte, North Carolina. When she was five years old, her family moved to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where she attended public school and earned a reputation in the neighborhood of being an extremely animated and theatrical young girl. Wilson was one of three children born to James and Doreather Johnson Robinson. Her father owned and operated Robinson Cleaning Company, and her mother worked in a bank. Wilson described her mother to Contemporary Black Biography (CBB), as the rock , who told her daughter to never let anyone steal your joy. Wilson also credits her brother, Joseph, for teaching her, as she told CBB not to sweat the small things and her other brother, Kenny, a comedian, for providing an excellent sounding board. In addition, she told CBB, Wilsonn's uncle, Johannes Kporha, taught her how to understand the way people communicate, to learn to watch their behavior, moods and actions.
