The 187 is awesome!! I agree with the olive oil treatment. Just put some extra virgin olive oil on a paper napkin and then rub your brush back and forth till most of the pigment on the white bristles come off. I usually use a teeny amount of baby shampoo and warm water to remove the residue of oil on the bristles and then use the mac brush cleaner. I do the same thing to my 168! Kim
i love the MAC 187 brush! i have three of them ... my first ever MAC brush was the MAC 187 .. and my sister got me the second one and the third 187 brush is a short handle brush from a MAC collection which sheds like hell! and its annoying ... i use the MAC 187 for liquid and powder foundation i find it works really well with the MAC Minerlise Skin Finish Natural powders but yes leaving the brush in a brush roll or some sort of storage is not good the brush seems to retain the cleanser or water from when you washed it ... not sure why my other brushes i do not have the same issue with :(
MAC 187 Duo Fibre Brush ($42.00) is a brush made famous by mineralize skinfinish fans everywhere. It is a large, densely bristled brush packed with a blend of both goat and synthetic fibers. It also better known as a stippling brush. I originally used this brush primarily for applying liquid foundation (Studio Fix Fluid), and I loved the results! It was really soft, light coverage spread everywhere and gave a soft finish. I personally found the 182 to give me even better results, so the 187 is no longer my go-to for foundation. One of the reasons I preferred the 182 is sometimes the 187 would give me a few streaks that Ii’d have to work a bit more at blending out; the 182 doesna’t give me any streaks at all. Though for a cream-based foundation, I much prefer the 187 over the 182
